During my 2006 coast to coast USA tour I met an extraordinary woman, poet, singer and actress, Christina Ghubril. Physically manifested in this tiny little person lied so much power, so much emotion and that kind of inner and outer beauty that just knocks you off your feet. She had me crying in the middle of her poetry reading at the Nuyorican Poetry Club and I had to introduce myself.

I’m a big city guy with opinions and an attitude fitting a big city. I’m also a big city guy with a small town heart. In a big city you can pretty much do and say whatever you like because nobody knows you. In a small town everyone knows everything about everyone, no not really but what you say and do can and will eventually catch up with you so today I kind of have my hands tied today.

I beatbox, hum, sing, freestyle and rap all the time when I’m alone, or in the shower… or in the toilet. Today as I was about to pick up the vacuum cleaner to clean the house (The notion that women are cleanlier than men is a stupid myth… my goodness, the filth!) I started repeating the same word over and over again in a demonstrative, protesting rhythm: Propaganda, Propaganda! Then followed: Don’t believe everything they say, it’s not true.
