A few weeks back Taylor Mali, who got me started on the whole USA coast to coast tour in 2006, contacted me to tell me that one of my pieces which I performed during my show at the Bowery Poetry Club in Manhattan, New York would be featured on a podcast.
Today it was released and it is for me so humbling and flattering to have someone as huge as Taylor Mali not only giving me airtime but to actually be impressed by the work I do. I’ve been doing this now for more than 10 years with very little success compared to what I’ve felt I’ve been capable of. There are many talented people out their ripping the mic every night and I don’t want to compare myself to them. But, it’s moments like these that really makes you feel that what you’re doing is coming across.
I’m not saying this because Mr Mali is famous and his opinion matters more than others, well it does… but not because of his fame. I value his opinions because I myself have been a big fan of his work for a long time. We have actually worked together on a few tracks.
