Through life there are ups and downs and I’ve made peace with that a long time ago. Sometimes it helps to write about it, hell I recorded 3 full albums because of it. Anyway, I wrote this piece this morning and I’d like to share it with you. The piece is about how sometimes, you just don’t feel like you belong, or don’t understand the surroundings you are in. It’s confusing, isolating and somewhat depressing, but like everything in this universe, a passing thing. Feel free to leave comments after the reading.

They say that no man is an island but I’m a completely different planet.
Orbiting around Earth, it seems that’s the way the universe planned it.
The reason why escapes me but this is where I’ve been planted.
Stranded circling heavenly bodies. I’ve seen it and I’ve scanned it.
There is an obvious gravity, keeping me in distant rotation.
I’m doing annual laps and keeping tabs trying to keep my concentration.
As seasons change, the tide goes back and forth by the adjacent.
And every once in a while, there is a catastrophe caused by friction and displacement. Read the rest of this entry »
We live in a time of great stress and tons of pressure.Which means, we live in a time which is no different from any other times. The cave has been replaced by a house, the hunt has been replaced by work, the random simple sicknesses and fractures that killed us have been replaced by AIDS, cancer and gluttony. Yet for some reason it seems people today are suffering more than ever.
During September to November of 2006 I planned, executed and finished a coast to coast USA tour with my music and poetry. It was till this day one of the biggest adventures of my life. In late October I arrived in New York and after having been house and cat sitting for Mr Taylor Mali and his wife I booked a room in a hostel in Jackson Heights, Queens.
One evening a new guest arrived and her name was Kristin. She was speaking to the hostel owner as she came in. It was a clean west coast American accent so you can imagine my surprise when she approached me to say hi and in the cleanest Swedish accent said:
- Hej, jag hörde att det skulle vara en svensk kille här. (Hi, I heard there was going to be a Swedish guy here).
I burst into laughter by the sudden change of language. I hadn’t heard a word of Swedish in months and there stood this beautiful woman with piercing eyes and burning red hair. And there I stood, an Assyrian immigrant from Sweden who wanted to flee Sweden, suddenly giggling over hearing that language I was supposed to call my own. Right then and there, in this dodgy hostel in the middle of USAs ghettos, it felt like home for a moment. The evening progressed and we stayed up all night talking. Read the rest of this entry »
My dear friend America Vega Pascual has ever since I released “I am reality” in MP3 showered me with compliments about it. The piece was a defining moment for me in my life and it apparently inspired her as well to pursue her own dreams.
Today I turn 31 and what better way to celebrate it than to look back at one of those defining moments and stories that shaped me into who and what I am in this point in time. I have so much to be grateful for and equal amount of things to be upset about but having lived on this planet for a number of years now I’ve understood that positive future comes from positive thinking in a positive presence.
So, I would like to dedicate this piece to myself, my friends and family and especially Miss Vega Pascal. I am truly blessed in this life. I love you, thank you all.

In 2008 I made a promise that I would go swimming on new years day. Unfortunately I fell ill during that time so I’ve waited one long year to get my revenge and I finally did!
Me and a bunch of friends went down to the pier in Sliema and jumped in, happy new year!
